Meeting the Parliamentary Committee Tanzania

The Seed Working Group Tanzania, led by the Tanzania Alliance for Biodiversity (TABIO), recently presented before the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Trade, Agriculture, and Livestock. The presentation focused on key areas to advance agriculture and empower farmers in Tanzania, including the promotion of Farmer-Managed Seed Systems (FMSS), enhancing food security and nutrition, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and advocating for policies to protect farmers’ rights to manage seeds. Emphasis was placed on the importance of capacity building and research to ensure the long-term success of FMSS.
